What happens when you take an audio book and play it over a concept album? You get an entirely new genre of music that we like to call narrative ambient opera. Theatre Of Life has spent the past 10 years perfecting this concept, and they now have 4 complete albums and accompanying books to show for it, with a 5th album released and a new companion book in the works.
Each concept album stands alone and tells its own story, but also serves as the soundtrack for an accompanying novella, complete with audio cues, that can be read along with the album for a total virtual audio experience. Or, if you still want to hear the two together without having to read the book, you can purchase the complete audio version online, which features the audio book reading and musical soundtrack combined as one. So, in the end, you get one story told to you through 3 very different experiences: The soundtrack, the book, or the entire narrative ambient opera.
